In need of a gift idea for someone who loves baking?!
Look no further! Cookies in a jar is the perfect gift to give this holiday season.
Essentially, you’re gifting someone dry cookie ingredients to make at a later time. All they need to do is add the wet ingredients, bake, and voila! A thoughtful gift for a neighbor, family member, or friend that’s cost effective and can be stored for up to 6 months.
First, you’ll need clean 32oz mason jars. I got Kerr mason jars from my local Michaels craft store. Then you’ll need the dry cookie ingredients (see recipe details below), ribbon of choice, and holiday gift tags to write the recipe details on.
Once you have all ingredients, start assembling! Using a sieve, add chickpea flour first as your bottom layer. Next will be salt and baking soda, followed by the two types of sugar. Top the jar off with chocolate chips and you’re ready to put ribbon and a tag on it! Between each ingredient, give the jar a good shake to even out any bumps and allow for an even spread.
On the holiday gift tag, I used these, write how many cookies the recipe makes, what temperature to cook at and for how long, and lastly the wet ingredients with exact measurements. Using the ribbon, tie the tag around the jar in a nice bow and you’re finished!
